Manners please

I know I always joke that I have the real life Dennis the Menace living in my house, but today I must give kudos to him (Drew).
I feel manners and showing respect to your elders is very important and so since the time Drew was able to utter his first words this is what we taught him. Of course he is a child and sometimes it is forgotten but we just kept reminding him and you pray that when they are out in public that they remember.
Well, today Mike was at the school with Drew and they were eating lunch. The cafeteria lady came up to Mike and said "is this your son?" which sorta always makes me cringe because the first thought that goes through my mind is "Oh sweet Lord what has he done now?" So anyway, he replies and says "yes" She then says to him, "I just have to tell you, your son is the most well mannered, respectful child in this school. He always says please, thank you, may I etc..."
Yes, my mouth dropped when I heard this. You do not know how proud I am of my sweet boy. To me that is one of the best compliments; when you can finally see your hard work pay off and people appreciate it.

Good job Drew! Mommy is proud of you! I will let you relish in this moment for only a short time then we will talk about you having to go visit the Principal later...
