Easy and great wedding gift idea

Last month we had a wedding to go to for our nephew and his new bride. I was trying to think of what to get them that would be different and something they could always cherish. I had a canvas laying around that I had gotten for Drew to paint on so then I got the idea. I would make them a picture on canvas. Here is how I did it. First, she had tons of pictures on her Facebook page, so I went through and snagged a few and printed them out to see what they would look like. I found one that I liked and re-sized it. I added their last name and the date of the wedding to the picture and printed it out on regular paper. I wanted to give the picture an aged look but I didn't have brown paint that I could dilute. So, I took tea bags soaked them in hot water and rubbed them all over the edge of the canvas until I achieved my desired color. This will be a little messy because the tea bags will start to open and leave tea everwhere so be careful.

I then added a little bit of diluted black paint over it to give it a deeper color.

Once it was dry I attached the photo and applied Mod Podge over it to adhere it.

Let it dry. Once it was dry, I light added more diluted black paint gently with a brush and then immediatly wiped it off with a paper towel so it would not be too dark. Voila you are done.
