I might have a slight dilemma on my hands with my Christmas tree. I was told last night my tree will have to stay up, in my living room all year. Huh?? Now, I HAVE been known to leave the thing up way past Christmas, I won't tell you exactly when it came down, but I can say I have NEVER left it up all year. Here is where the problem lies... During the summer we had Radiant Barrier and insulation put into our attics- the one in the house and a portion of the attic over the garage. When they tell you they are going to add oh I don't know 18 inches of insulation, to me it is just a number. I didn't have a clue what 18 inches of insulation looked like, but now I can tell you it is A LOT! So much that nothing and I mean nothing will fit in one whole attic. Do you know how hard it is to condense 2 attics full of junk to one? And really only half of one because again, we have 18 inches of insulation in part of it. When you are a person who keeps everything like yours truly, condensing is not so easy. Anyway back to the problem... the attic which normally housed the tree is no longer usable, therefore, it must go in the other attic which has no more room for it. And this is why the tree must stay up all year. I guess I can have a Happy New Year tree, Valentine tree, St. Patty's Day tree, Easter tree, Memorial Day tree, Fourth of July tree, Happy Birthday to me tree and whatever other holiday tree there might be. I am certain my neighbors will think I am the coolest person on the block for having such a festive living room.
