Because of my "couponing" I actually had a LOT of the stuff already but I did go to the Dollar Store and Walmart for just a few more items. I really did not spend much money putting the box together in case anyone else wants to do this, you don't have to spend a ton to show someone you are grateful. So here are some items I put in my box.
- Instant Oatmeal
- Individual Mac-n-Cheese
- Pringles
- Beef Jerky
- Toothpaste and Mouthwash and toothbrush covers
- Chapstick
- Powder
- Cough drops
- Dr. Scholl's shoe inserts
- Lotion
- Q-tips
- 5 hour Energy Shot
- Deoderant
- Disposable Razors
- Playing Cards
- Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes
- Bubble Gum
- Mints
- Juice Boxes/Capri Sun
- Pipe Cleaners
- Chocolate Santa
- Candy filled Candy Cane
- Candy Cane
- Popcorn
- Moon Pies
- Chocolate Covered Cherries
- Ornament
- Hot Chocolate with marshmallows
- Christmas movie- I actually found this at Walmart for $5.00 and it is a double DVD with all the classic movies- I think there are twelve movies in all along with all the old Christmas classic cartoons. What would Christmas be without the old classics right?
- Santa hat and stocking
Now time for the box. I have to tell you, wrapping the inside of a box-I am not so good at, but keep reminding myself it is the thought that counts! I wanted to make it as Christmas-y as possible so I took wrapping paper and cut it into pieces to fit each side of the box then taped it to the inside. I then took tinsel and hot glued around the edges just to cover where the wrapping paper didn't look so hot. I took tissue paper and packed the box and covered the items. I want him to feel like he is unwrapping the box.
I wrapped some "packages" individually because I wanted him to having the feeling of opening Christmas presents. So I put some cheesy sayings on them and took scrapbook stickers that I had and used and ornamentation since bows would probably not make the trip.
I wrapped the moon pies and said "We appreciate you to the moon and back" for the Reeces Pieces I put "A little piece of home" for the hot chocolate I said "Wishing you a warm holiday" for the popcorn I said "Just poppin in to wish you a Merry Christmas" and for the playing cards I said "Don't be a joker, Santa is watching"
I then had Drew draw a picture to put in the package and also sent his teacher an email to see if she would like to get the students in the class to draw pictures or make cards that I can include. I haven't heard back from her yet, but I am hoping she does this.
