THERE ARE STILL GOOD PEOPLE IN THE WORLD

Sometimes it is nice to be reminded that there are good people left in this world. For the past couple of years I have put together care packages for the Troops over seas. Last year when I did it, I started with a goal of just 5 boxes to be sent (you got to start somewhere, right?) At the end of the day, I had 131 boxes that were sent to our troops who were not going to be home for Christmas. It was an amazing feeling to be able to do that! By July this year I had already been receiving messages from people asking if I was going to do it again. Of course I wanted to but was unsure of just how many names I could get. Then I received an email from my friend who helped me get the names of soldiers last year, asking if I would like to help her out. She had received an email herself from a SGT stationed in Kuwait. He was asking if he knew anyone who could adopt his soldiers. Many of them were first time deploys and he wanted to insure they received letters and care packages to help them with being gone for so long. Of course I said yes. I was given 31 names. In a matter of a day, I had all the men taken care of and then had enough people that each soldier would get 2 people writing and sending things. The response was overwhelming to the fact I have now had to request more names because I have a waiting list. This makes my heart happy for nothing more than it being an opportunity to say "Thank You" to someone I have never met and hopefully bringing a bright spot to their day.
