Branson or Bust- the Titanic Experience

If you haven't been to Branson in a while, I would recommend going and especially at Christmas time. The town was lit up with lights everywhere and walking downtown  just made you feel like you were in a Christmas movie classic.
Our trip started out as a "family" trip but with the mishap of my grandfather that kind of put a wrinkle in our plan so it ended up just being the four of us- me, Mike, Drew and Tora. The whole reason for the trip was because Drew asked Santa to see the Titanic. Since travelling to the bottom of the ocean floor was pretty much out of the question, the closest thing was Branson and the Titanic Museum. I wish they would have allowed pictures inside because it truly was amazing how much everything was just like the Titanic.I am not a fanatic about the Titanic that Drew seems to have become, but I love history and you have to admit, the Titanic just has a mystery about it.
When you walk in, you are greeted by friendly people. The women are dressed in white and black "maid" outfits who also speak with an English accents and the men are dressed in uniforms. You are given a card with a name on it and at the end of the tour you come to a wall of all the survivors and you try to find your person on the card to see if they survived. Mine was a stewardess who not only survived the Titanic sinking but two other ship sinkings- I would say that is one tough lady!
The tour is self guided so you are not rushed and get to take in all the history that is displayed here from never before seen pictures taken from a priest and his camera, to items that were found in the wreckage, letters to loved ones and other various items from family members that have been donated.
At the end of the tour they have a bowl of water that was the exact temperature of the water when the ship met its fate. It has a clock and you try to see how long you can stand the cold water. I can tell you I didn't last long at all! It also has display you can climb on which has three different angles the ship would have been at during the sinking.
I can't give away all the stuff insife but if you like history I highly suggest making this a stop during your stay.

The outside of the museum- iceberg and all

One happy little boy!
