What a fun day today! I drove a bulldozer and all I can say is I am sure there has never been another construction worker that has worn heels to bulldoze!
I picked Drew up just a little early today and went to where Mike was helping a friend clear some land- we thought he might have a little fun "driving". He could hardly contain his excitement with the thought that he was actually going to get to drive this beast. I think it is just in a boys makeup to get excited about stuff like this. I have to say he did pretty good for his first time; however, there was a moment I was a little uncomfortable as I see this machine coming straight at me. After Drew had his moment then came mine. While it was fun, I am so glad I am not a construction worker- a little too dirty of a job for me!
After we got done doing the "manly" thing, we headed to Downtown Denton to enjoy all the festivities down there. I have to say, I LOVE our square. It has such an old town feel to me. It always makes me think of how it might have been in the old days when that was the hub of the city and people coming to town in their horse drawn wagons. Anyway, we met my mom and my grandparents for a nice dinner at the Abbey Inn http://www.theabbeyinndenton.com/, then we walked around stopping to sip on all the Wassail each store had created for the Wassail Contest. But I think the best part of the evening was visiting The Candy Store! Can you ever have too much chocolate?
