I had a hankering for sausage balls today, and luckily, I had the ingredients to do so but like with anything I make, I find a recipe and have to change it up. I had 3 slices of cornbread left over from the other night and I needed to use it. So here is mine that I changed
1 lb ground sausage
2 1/2 cups making mix
4 cups grated cheese
3 slices of sweet cornbread crumbled
Franks Hot Sauce add to your taste
Pre- heat oven to 375 degrees. Spray a cookie sheet with cooking spray and set aside. Mix all the ingredients together with your hands. Mixture will be crumbly- that's ok. Form into balls in the palm of your hand, the moisture from the sausage and cheese will make it form and stick together.
Place on cookie sheet and bake for 18-20 minutes or until browned. You may need to take them out once to move them around so they don't stick.
The sweet cornbread gave it just a hint of sweetness mixed with the salty.
