I experienced a very tender moment with my son today, one that I will probably always remember. At the cemetery where my daddy is they have what is called a Dove Tree. This tree is hung with paper birds that you write a message on to your loved one. When Christmas is over they take the birds and mail them to you. For the past 12 years, (except last year when we were snowed in) I have gone to the cemetary and filled out my little white dove with a message to my daddy. This year was different; Drew went along and filled out his own dove and placed it on the tree. He was so sweet about his little note, especially for a man whom he has never met and only lives through my stories. Then I took him out to "visit" him and as we stood in the cold rain, with him holding my hand, he looked up at me and said, "Mommy, you have mud tears, is there anything I can do to make it better?" Such a sweet, sweet boy! Love him to pieces!
